All About Me :)

Hey again, I'm Katie Woolston!

I am a senior at James Madison University studying Media Arts and Design with a concentration in Creative Advertising and a minor in General Business.

After graduating high school, I decided to attend three semesters at Germanna Community College before arriving at James Madison University. I then began my studies with the School of Media Arts and Design and pursued my passion of creative advertising. I immediately fell in love with all the major had to offer and knew I was in the right place.

During my time in the School of Media Arts and Design, I learned valuable skills such as producing advertising campaigns, creating artwork and projects on Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, produce websites, video editing, and news reporting and writing. I have also been a member of JMU's new broadcasting team, Breeze TV, which has helped further advance my creative advertising, journalism, and media skills.

With my creative mind, ambitious personality, and strong communication skills, I am eager to work in positions such as a creative director, account manager, content creator, brand manager, or a marketing strategist.

While working for Breeze TV as a student reporter, I learned how find a story, chase it, and execute for out weekly live shows. I learned skills such as news writing, finding reliable sources, in-person interviews, capturing B-roll, video recording and editing, and how to have a strong on camera presence.

I have learned the importance for promoting specials and upselling items while providing excellent customer engagement. I have also learned how to proficiently multitask under high pressure and how to effectively resolve conflict. Additionally, I have learned extensive knowledge on exquisite food, cocktails, wine, and the importance of fresh local products.

With my professional customer service and outstanding

communications skills, I have made meaningful impacts among customers and employees. I have received leadership positions putting me in charge of training new hires as well as responsible for event planning and management. I also know how to professionally pour and serve wine as well as wine education and knowledge, high etiquette table setting, and food service excellence.
